Ways to secure documentation<\/b><\/p><\/td><\/tr>

  • Adequate security\u00a0 <\/b>Ensure that wherever you are based there are enough barriers to entry to give you time to shut down a PC or hide a document.<\/span><\/li><\/ul><\/td><\/tr>
  • Make copies<\/b> of passports, including the photo page and any valid visas.\u00a0 If possible,\u00a0 it would be best to scan these documents.<\/span><\/li><\/ul><\/td><\/tr>
  • Share information <\/b>with trusted friends and family by taking photographs of the documents and sharing them via a secure (encrypted) platform for safe keeping.<\/span><\/li><\/ul><\/td><\/tr>
  • Store digital copies to a Cloud <\/b>Only share access with trusted people.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/li><\/ul><\/td><\/tr>
  • Don\u2019t store all original documents at home.<\/b> It’s the first place they will look and in a stressful situation,\u00a0 you may be tempted to hand it over \u00a0 Have a cover story of why your travel documents are not immediately to hand.<\/span><\/li><\/ul><\/td><\/tr>
  • Don\u2019t store all copies in one place. <\/b>It is better to distribute them if possible.<\/span><\/li><\/ul><\/td><\/tr>
  • Safe places <\/b>What constitutes a safe place depends on your expertise.\u00a0 Think about it beforehand so you are better prepared.<\/span><\/li><\/ul><\/td><\/tr>
  • Don\u2019t panic <\/b>Should they come looking for documentation, stay calm.<\/span><\/li><\/ul><\/td><\/tr>
